Kate Reid trained at Central School of Art in London in textile design, which led to work as a freelance knitwear designer and textile specialist in a Lancashire museum. She now runs her own successful costume hire company, designing and making bespoke costumes for both theatre productions and film; anything from exquisite period work to wild and flamboyant outfits for pantomime dames. Kate is an inspiring teacher; she has loads of experience and will help you develop your dressmaking skills.
This workshop will be at Cowshed Creative, based in a traditional converted Lakeland barn at Browfoot Farm. The art studio is a stunning open plan space with plenty of room to wander outside and take inspiration from the amazing Lakeland landscape and environment of the peaceful Kentmere valley. Make it a special break and stay on the farm.
All our tutors are carefully selected professionals and experts with extensive teaching experience. Whilst this is a new venture, George, who has set up Cowshed Creative, has many years of experience programming and running creative courses at the Brewery Arts Centre in Kendal and for Cumbria Adult Education.
