18th, 25th Sept; 9th, 16th, 23rd Oct; 6th, 27th Nov; 6th Dec; 15th Jan** 9.30 – 12.30 pm
This is a course that takes students to a more secure level in piecing and techniques which include log cabin, foundation piecing, fusible applique, reverse applique and internal connective borders patchwork and quilting. You will be making a quilt similar to the one above. The fabric you chose will determine what your quilt will look like.
The target audience for this course is for people who wish to broaden their knowledge of different blocks commonly used for quilts and needing more knowledge of techniques in piecing and applique. Both beginners who are comfortable with a sewing machine as well as those who just wish to improve their skills and know more about quilting are the target group of learners.
** last session concentrates on quilting with your walking foot!
What's included in the price?
You must provide your sewing machine and its manual along with all it's bits. You will need a sewing kit with 2 pair scissors, 50 weight cotton thread (I recommend Aurafil in either cream or grey colour), 1/4 inch foot, and towards the end of class, a walking foot. You will also need to provide the fabric to make the quilt.
I provide tea, coffee and biscuits. I also have cutting mats, cutters and rulers, as well as irons and ironing board.
