About the Course
Research seasonal natural dyeing on sustainable fabrics such as organic cotton, peace silk and hemp. Plants available at this time of year include Coreopsis, Saint John's Wort and Dyers' Camomile. Develop an individual project for a textile artwork, fashion application or interior to showcase your design development. Particularly aimed at those who have already completed at least one of the other modules.
By the end of the course you will be able to
Experiment with a summer seasonal natural dye palette on a range of fibres
Develop an individual project for a textile artwork, fashion application or interior design
Research, discuss and use sustainable fabrics
Complete a book of plant colour swatches with recipes and suppliers
Class format and activities
Group discussions, Q &A, introductions to new materials and techniques, practical help with equipment and materials where necessary.

Particularly aimed at those who have completed at least one of the other natural dyeing courses.
What you will need for your class
Notebook, pen, camera/phone. Fabric swatches £5 . Other fabrics available to buy at cost price from the studio including organic cotton and wool yarn, washed linen, silks.
