A 1 day screenwriting workshop.
Multi-award winning TV comedy and drama screenwriter Graham Duff will provide you with a range of strategies to create powerful, engaging and entertaining scripts in this Screenwriting Workshop.
Whether you’re a novice, or someone who has been writing for a while, Graham can help you develop your creative drive and build your confidence in your work. He’ll show you how to get your script up on its feet: from brainstorming ideas to developing plots. From how to write memorable characters, to how to craft compelling narratives.
You’ll be encouraged to find and employ your own distinctive voice, to follow your own passions and use them to inform your scripts. Graham will also explain how to avoid common mistakes and maximise the chances of getting your work into production.
Graham will take you through each aspect of the script writing process. From generating initial ideas and log lines, through character development, story-lining, beat sheets and on to scripting itself. He’ll show clips which illuminate the ideas under discussion.
No previous experience is needed: just a desire to write and get your voice heard. You won’t be expected to do any actual script writing within the workshop, but there will be brainstorming sessions. So bring pen and paper, or your laptop or tablet. Whatever helps you make notes and write down ideas and thoughts.
