A two-day ring making experience.
What could be more romantic than creating your true love’s wedding band? An experience which will truly last a lifetime.
Join our experienced craftsman in our blacksmithing forge which is situated in the beautiful countryside of rural Herefordshire.
This is an opportunity to enjoy a truly memorable and unique experience in the creation of your very own rings!
Learn the processes of forging, grinding, machining, heat treating, and finishing, whilst crafting your very own Damascus/ Pattern Welded rings. This is a two-day experience for two people and will enable each one to make their very own rings. Please note the rings are made from two different types of steel 1095 and 15n20 which gives its contrast. 15n20 has a high nickel content so these rings are not suitable for anyone with a nickel allergy.
Our expert team will give you full support during what is a very “hands-on” experience and guide you through all aspects of the processes involved.
Day one is spent learning to make your own pattern-welded / Damascus steel. On day two you will have the confidence to forge and shape the ring.
If it is your dream to make your very own unique jewellery but you have no previous experience, please do not worry. We tailor each of our packages to cater for absolute beginners right through to those with more experience. Our team of blacksmiths will ensure that you receive the degree of support you need to produce the perfect ring. We are proud to have hosted participants from all over the UK and indeed from many parts of the world, and we would be thrilled to have you join us to make your very own engagement, wedding, anniversary or sentimental rings.
This is much more than your normal experience day! You can see, touch, smell and experience the life of a blacksmith, taking home whatever you make with us.
Be sure to dress appropriately, remembering that in the colder months it can get chilly inside the workshop (despite the fires!) We will be here to meet you on arrival where we will get all of the boring (but essential) bits out of the way. Please bring the completed Health and Safety forms with you, it’s vital they are completed prior to your visit so that you are ready to start your day as soon as you arrive. If you prefer you can always email them to us prior to arrival.
Excited? Lose yourself in an experience unlike any other … and we’re sure you will want to come back for more.
If you will be redeeming a CraftCourses gift voucher on this course, the voucher code must be provided at the point of booking.
All your PPE will be provided, so you will be all be ready to start your experience day with us!
