About the Course
Learn a wide range of relief printmaking techniques whilst working at your own pace.
We will cover linocut and woodcut. You will learn a wide range of techniques, including how to make full colour prints. You will make blocks that can be used for original prints on paper, fabric and other materials. You will have the option of using traditional or easy to cut lino, or wood and you will learn how to print with and without a press. New students with no experience are very welcome, whilst returning students will be encouraged to learn new techniques and processes to continue their work.
Continuing students will be able to embark on more ambitious projects, whilst new students will be given every encouragement to develop their skills and confidence. You will gain a good working knowledge of different types of printmaking and how to recognise them.
You will be printing with and without a press and you will learn about the materials and tools needed. All basic materials are supplied. Extras such as specialist papers are available at a modest charge.
It is helpful if you can bring ideas, images that you like or photographs to work from.
