About the Course
'Recreate your favourite picture or a photo in wool fibres' wool painting workshop.
Wool painting or wool watercolour, as some people call it, is a unique relatively new technique which originated in St. Petersburg. This is not felt making. It is about creating a fibre picture using merino wool, silk and viscose. Following Raya’s step by step instructions you will create an amazing picture with some lovely watercolour effects and textures, which you will take home at the end of the workshop. Come around and enjoy tactile therapeutic experience of working with beautiful featherlight strands of natural fibres in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere.

I thought this was an extremely well-organised workshop with a friendly approachable tutor. I felt I learnt a lot about techniques as well as having my eyes opened to the possibilities of working with wool and various yarns and threads. Really enjoyed the process and will be doing more at home. Thank you, Raya.

Thank you Raya for a wonderful workshop! I love wool painting and you were an exceptional teacher. Though you guided us we were also able to be creative with our pictures. The atmosphere was relaxing, fun and creative. What a wonderful way to spend a rainy and miserable Saturday!
Clearly you are very knowledgeable and an experienced teacher. I look forward for your next wool painting class. I have a photo of my a very special scenery and would love to recreate it in wool fibres. I can't wait for the next class. Thank you. I highly recommend Raya's classes for anyone. They are suitable for absolute beginners .
