Description
This course will encourage you to develop your own style whilst learning different techniques. You will be taught the various techniques necessary to create stunning headpieces. Using a variety of blocks, materials and finishes, learn professional techniques to bring your own ideas into reality. For high fashion or everyday hats for men and women, this course will introduce you to hat making at its very best.
You will be encouraged to research and develop your design skills alongside your technical abilities. All students will be encouraged to pursue their own project work where appropriate. The course is suitable for anyone interested in the subject, although it's desirable that students are able to use a sewing machine and have good hand sewing skills. Returning students may continue with their own projects.

What's included in the price?
After examining and discussing examples and samples of hats, the tutor will demonstrate a variety of cutting, stitching, construction and finishing techniques, and how to safely shape foundation materials using hat blocks and steam & hot iron. Handouts and illustrated reference books will be used as support for design and skill development. Teaching will be in groups and on an individual, one-to-one basis and you will be encouraged to develop your creativity.
