Powertex Sheep Sculpture Workshop - by Inky Escapades

Fabric Roses mirror - Come and create your own unique mirror using fabric - many colour options

For this workshop you will make this beautiful 3d Sheep Sculpture this one is called "Sam the roly poly sheep"
Anyone with a reasonable degree of dexterity, can create this. no experience necessary
You will be shown how to create the armature from recycled materials and then clothe it in 3D Flex and Stone Art Clay
3D Flex is designed the shrink and crack so the sheep will carry on drying when you take it home so the cracks will become larger.
It can be displayed outside once fully dried. outdoor sculptures do benefit from a coat of varnish if they are to be displayed outside.

What is Powertex ?
Let me introduce you to the wonderful world of Powertex.

It is a water based, non toxic and environmentally friendly universal medium it is a liquid essentially a paint and glue combined and it is a fabric hardener, used to create 2D or 3D sculptures.
Powertex added to various other mediums can be turned into a couple of different clays and it is a fabulous medium for mixed media.

Where possible I use recycled products and recycled fabrics. I haunt the charity shops for 100% cotton clothes to use in my art works. I also use broken jewellery and often re-cycle and re-purpose many items.

I will supply all materials, including gloves & apron since Powertex is a messy, but extremely creative business. I will guide you through the construction/creation of the piece and the colouring process.

Workshops start at 10am, break when all the wet work is done, so they can be dried off, and then we start the colouring, this is where the magic happens!

Sometimes workshops exceed the finish time by as much as an hour please allow for this when booking.

For this workshop you will make this beautiful 3d Cat Sculpture this one is called "Monty the Marmalade Cat".
You will be shown how to create the armature and then clothe it in recycled fabrics .The features are created from Powertex Stone Art Clay.
It can be displayed outside once fully dried, I have used mostly recycled materials. There are many colour choices to choose from to truly make this piece your own - no two will look the same.
you will need to come back for a two hour session to complete the colouring around three days later to allow the fabric and clays to fully dry.

Cancellation and a full refund can be obtained up to 4 weeks before the course starts. Start dates may be amended on request.
