Pottery for beginners

About the Course
We will cover the basic techniques of pottery - pinching, coiling, slabbing, use of hump and press moulds. We will explore texture, pattern and colour and students will be able to take home their pots. The pottery studio is well equipped with all the tools and equipment needed. Students should wear old clothes, although aprons will be provided.
The tutor, Fiona Scanlan, has been making pottery for over 20 years and is qualified to teach in further and adult education. She is a member of the Midlands Potters Association and her work has featured in exhibitions throughout the Midlands. Over the last few years she has very much enjoyed showing people how to make pots and then seeing their creativity and talent emerge.
If booking with a CraftCourses voucher for part or all of the course fee, please fill in the contact form above or telephone us. Your voucher code must be provided at the point of booking.
