About the Course

Pottery experience day at Moon Studio Ceramics in rural Dorset. Every month on a Thursday plus occasional Saturdays.

Ever fancied trying your hand at working with clay? Come and learn how at this practical and creative class. Group size is small and welcoming and brilliant for friends or on your own.

The day will start with a hot brew, and short demonstration of hand building, sculpting & surface decoration techniques. You will also get to have a throw on the potters wheel.

After that it's over to you to create using raw earthenware clay. Once complete, decorate your greenware with coloured underglaze to finish your works of art.

Leave with Imogen to glaze and fire your makes, ready for collection (or delivery) around 4-6 weeks later. Places are limited to just 6 to ensure plenty of one to one tuition and booking is essential, email via the contact form above.

Please bring lunch with you, there will be plenty of tea, coffee and biscuits!

What's included in the price?

Includes tuition plus all basic materials and two firings (bisc and glaze).
My studio is in a converted barn in a beautiful rural location close to Christchurch, nestled by the New Forest and Avon Beach. You will need a car to get here, but we do have ample free parking. There are several country pubs close by should you want a bite to eat, and across the yard is a cider press!

About the artist:
Imogen is a practicing ceramic and visual artist based in Bournemouth. She's an experienced arts facilitator offering creative workshops to adults, schools and diverse ability groups.
With a BA in Applied Art & Design Imogen is able to offer a professional standard of class which is both educational and fun.
