Description

Photography with Pauline Rook; for camera owners who want to get more from their camera.
About this Event

A basic introduction to using the controls on your camera, what they do and how to be in control. Yes, there’s a whole science and skill in altering and enhancing images afterwards, using expensive software, but we can learn the skills to create the best image in the first place.

We're delighted that Pauline Rook, an experienced professional photographer with a lifetime's passion of photography in the South West, will be here to help us to really ‘see’ and to capture the images that we want. With practical demonstrations at our beautiful wilderness venue, she’ll be covering a range of techniques, depending upon the weather and individual interests; such as portraits, close ups, landscape and documentary techniques.

After introducing techniques, tips and ideas, we'll take a walk around the venue getting our 'eye-in' to identify images, learn from our expert tutor and take some shots of our own. We'll enjoy some delicious artisan refreshments around the campfire and continue the learning by analysing existing images, as well as those captured on the day, and sharing feedback.

What to wear and bring:

Footwear: Walking boots/wellies/off-road trainers as the ground is steep and uneven.

Clothing: Dress for the season. Spare clothes, warm layers, waterproof jacket, sun cream, hat etc.

Bring: Your camera! (and tripod, if you have one), plus any photos you want to share with the group or tutor.
