About the Course
Love learning? Love being outdoors? Looking for something a bit different? Or maybe you home educate and are looking for opportunities for your children?
Then this is for you!!
Come and spend the morning immersed in nature, creating, crafting, learning and unwinding in the tranquil setting of Kentish woodlands. On the outskirts of the lovely village of Leigh, near Tonbridge, you will find this fabulous private woodland, providing the perfect place to get away from the hustle and bustle and explore your creativity with like-minded folk.
Pewter is a fantastic and very versatile metal to work with. It is a low-melt alloy and so can be used to create very intricate but robust pieces fairly easily.
We will be using 2 different methods of casting: using cuttlefish bone - which is great for creating totally unique and personal designs; and Delft clay - which is excellent for creating replicas, so if you have your own small item that you would like to reproduce - please do bring it along, although I will have a selection of things you can use or you can always forage amongst the trees to find your treasure!
You will be shown how to work with the pewter to your desired finish and add findings to complete the piece.
The woodland is set up to run Forest School and so has all the facilities you will need.
