The class focuses on working with pewter, a lovely metal that looks like silver or even gold! I'll show you the gold trick. This class is a perfect introduction to the world of pewter with its many three-dimensional design elements making it perfect for a variety of projects, this box being one.
You not only learn how to mark and use low relief on pewter, you will also have a go at antiquing, using environmentally friendly techniques, and how to use blended powders and paints to create enamel effects.
All these techniques come in handy with many projects. I use them all the time as they're versatile, effective and fun.
How to prepare the box will be explained during the session, but detailed illustrated instructions will be emailed to you explaining how to transform a plain wooden item, so that you will have a multi layered box ready to receive its pewter decorations.
You can choose from three designs and the main colour (blue, green, red, magenta), but you'll do the mixing to make the shades you like.
Cancellation and a full refund can be obtained up to 2 weeks before the course starts. Start dates may be amended on request.
