About the Course
A fun half-day introduction to pen and ink drawing, perfect for beginners and also suitable for the more advanced. Rebecca (B.A. Hons. of Fine Art 1994) is a commercial artist, specialising in pen and ink drawings of animals, cityscapes - with the occasional human thrown in! Rebecca sells her original artwork and prints at home and abroad.
The course will have structured drawing sessions, introduced by way of an initial tutorial and finishing with a question and answer session, allowing participants to focus on their own creative aims, whilst enabling the sharing of ideas with other attendees - always an enjoyable and vital part of the art making process!
The teaching will include composition, perspective, and styles (cross-hatching, dotting and line drawing) and cover a wide range of subjects from landscapes to people and animals. As well as black and white drawing, the course also looks at introducing colour techniques. Acknowledging attendees will want different focuses, after the introductory tutorial, Rebecca will be on hand to provide one-on-one support and guidance during the drawing sessions, the aim being that at the end of the course, everybody goes away knowing they have made real progress and feeling buoyed up to achieve their artistic goals!
