The Andalusian Nasrid masterpiece the Alhambra has for centuries proved a rich source of inspiration for artists, scientists, mathematicians and poets.
The human soul has an inherent yearning for the True, the Beautiful and the Good;
tourists flock in the millions annually to experience these timeless principles present in the patterns and architectural proportions of this magnificent palace.
Participants will develop an impressive portfolio of Alhambra Geometric Patterns. The patterns, ranging from the simple to highly sophisticated, will be taught in a gentle step-by-step manner suitable for both beginner and intermediate ability levels.

What's included in the price?

All tuition costs, materials and refreshments.

A wonderful and friendly studio in which to study the art of geometry, in beautiful and peaceful surroundings. Daniel's and Kira's instructions are clear and go at a pace that are easy to follow. It is a delight and revelation to watch the beautiful patterns unfold before our eyes from the initial grids we have constructed.
Thank you for all your inspiration!

Immersing oneself in the rich artistic tradition of Islamic geometry was so good for one's being and soul.Daniel is an excellent teacher - very knowledgeable, patient and encouraging. Different patterns of varying complexity kept me completely involved. The environment of Emerson college was very conducive to learning and reflection. The Art room of SAOG is serene and a sanctuary. One seems to be in the studio of Abul-Wafa al Buzjani ( 10th century Persian mathematician and astronomer in Baghdad)- working with compass and ruler, understanding the interplay of mathematics and art. I do hope to enrol on further courses that Daniel and Kira are planning for the future. Thankyou and shukran.
