About the Course
About the course:
This course is ideal for learners who already have a sewing background and have perhaps used commercial or shop bought patterns to make garments. This course will support learners when drafting a block and dress pattern from scratch and will provide learners with the opportunity to see it realised in a finished garment.
The course will be delivered over 9 evening sessions (Every Wednesday from the 22nd March at 7.15pm) and will require a little private sewing work in between the sessions. The course will guide learners through measuring, drafting, fittings, alterations, layplanning and cutting.
Sessions are flexible and can be tailored / adjusted to meet the needs of learners. The latter part of the course will allow delegates to choose in which direction they personally want to take their own learning. Options include drafting approaches to various types of skirts / waistbands and sleeves. Sessions are designed to be creative, inspiring and supportive and will provide a stimulating environment in which to develop dress making skills.
