About the Course
Ditch the devices! If your children spend too much time on their electronic devices and you would love to have more quality time with your children, look no further than our holiday, pot throwing courses. Imagine, a whole day during which your child/ren and you share a unique experience, learning how to throw pots and produce some fantastic outcomes.
For the first time in possibly ages, you and your family can laugh, communicate and enjoy a journey of discovery together, without the stresses and strains of everyday life. Many young people report that after a day spent without the shackles of social media they love the feeling of being refreshed and the sense of freedom that learning a new skill provides. So what will you and your child/ren learn together? Well, if you have ever wished you could throw pots successfully at the potter's wheel you now can! I am a qualified ceramicist with over 20 years' experience of throwing clay pots and producing all manner of fine art made in clay.
I regularly work in schools with primary and secondary children. There is nothing as soothing or as therapeutic as sitting at the potter's wheel and throwing pots. This course will give you and your family a head start on some of the essential techniques required to produce your very own first pot, of your own design. If you already have some experience or advanced knowledge of throwing you will be able to extend your pot throwing skills even further by attending this course.
Come along with your child/ren, spouse or friends, or purchase a gift voucher and at last give a gift that really does thrill and ignite the imagination! Our day courses are designed for 2 people or 4 people to enjoy together, or a family of 4/5 i.e. 2 parents and 2/3 children. The course fee is for a child 9 years + and a parent. It's huge fun to work at a new hobby together and to ditch the isolationism of electronic devices for a whole day. Children really love the novelty of speaking, doing and being in the real world for a change! Please contact me for any further details.
We are now taking bookings for the school summer holidays. Please contact me for up to date information on dates remaining. There is a limit so please contact me soon so as not to be disappointed.

Included in the price is a free lunch of home grown and made vegetable soup and locally baked bread or feel free to bring your own packed lunch. There is also an inexhaustible supply of coffee, tea, water and biscuits.
There are no hidden charges -everything required for a fulfilling and memorable pot throwing experience is included in the price; that includes, tools, use of the potter's wheel, apron, clay, tuition etc.
At the end of your day, if you have a pot you'd like to keep you may leave it to be fired in my kiln and come and collect it when it's ready or I can send it on to you at a small charge of around £12.
The courses are designed for two - five people- I keep the classes small as I like to maximize the amount of personal tuition you receive and the amount of time you spend on the potter's wheel. This course is highly interactive, fun and you will learn lots!
