About the Course
Rob Ives is a hugely talented and renowned paper engineer and crafter based in Cumbria.
He has designed everything from mechanical paper flying pigs to 3D pop up cards and much more. He specialises in teaching others how to create their own models by following his succinct step by step instructions
'Paper models & automata' - The irresistible fascination of paper mechanics.
Join Rob for a day, glean some of his expertise and partake in creating another of his quirky and humorous inventions. Under his guidance you will build your very own paper model designed uniquely for this Quirky Workshop day.
Many of today's younger engineers may have found early inspiration in the humorous and ingenious models created of Rob Ives - my owns sons certainly did, providing happy hours of fascination with mechanics.
Our days are considered special treats; many come back time and time again and often combine it with a short break to the Lake District.
We have been hosting and organising 'Quirky Workshops' since 2005 from our friendly family run Cycle Cafe Tea Garden on the northern fringes of the Lake District. All our tutors are carefully hand selected experts and professionals and many considered as leading nationally in their field.
