Description

Painting with Wool – An introduction to Needle Felting

Needle felting is a process of making wool fibres bond together by agitating them with a sharp needle. Basically lots of wool stabbing – very therapeutic! This is a particularly good technique for producing 3D pieces or pictures with depth. It is also good for producing detail and can be used in much the same way as paint to produce art that is both eye catching and triggers a desire to touch! This is a relaxed, calming and absorbing workshop, suitable for beginners, taking you through all the basic techniques involved in making your own 3D work of art.
Throughout the day we will cover;
• Designing your own needle felt piece.
• Handling and choosing wool and other materials
• Using needles and felting wool
• Building shape and depth
• Blending wool
• Painting with wool
At the end of the course you will take home your unique felted art for you and others to admire!
Please Note; This workshop necessitates the use of sharp objects. We will always endeavour to minimise risks of injury by providing safe equipment and following good practice procedures, but due to risks involved we do not recommend you attend if you have significant blood clotting disorders.

Cancellation and a full refund can be obtained up to 4 weeks before the course starts. Start dates may be amended on request.
