Beginners, improvers and returners.
Students who attend other courses in the Mary Ward Art Department.
Foundation and Pre-Foundation students building portfolios for application to higher education.

Drawing in different ways for different purposes
Using a variety of techniques and materials to make expressive and sensitive drawing
The basics of drawing
The differences between drawing and painting what are they?
The uses of drawing for painting, adapting drawings
Painting basics: Materials, colour, tools and application methods
Means to invention - Using drawing imaginatively
Resolving a painting
Considering weekly work of other artists
Improve basic drawing and painting skills
Develop personal and inventive approaches
Be more confident with basic skills in using these to explore and develop ideas
Have a familiarity with materials and techniques
Be able to reflect on their outcomes constructively
