Whether you are wanting to build upon the skills you have already developed, or you are just starting out, our workshops will fuel your imagination and be an invaluable source of inspiration.
These studio-based workshops located in Kent are designed for anyone with an interest in learning how to create beautiful and professional looking pieces of hand-painted furniture. The workshops are curated and run by Simon Nobs, Director of Snobs Interiors Ltd., with over 30 years experience working as a specialist interior decorator and designer.
On the day we encourage you to bring along a small item to the workshop, for example a side table, a small wooden chair or a jewellery box. If you don't have anything suitable then you will still be able to practice the techniques and get inspiration working on the sample boards Simon prepares before each workshop. But if you do have a project piece in mind this is a great opportunity to get professional advice and support.
If you have an idea of the look and colour for your piece of furniture Simon can offer help and guidance for you to create the perfect finish. Alternatively, if you are not sure where to begin Simon can suggest a selection of looks for you to choose from and help you achieve your preferred look. There will be plenty a time through the day to ask Simon questions and advice on anything to do with painting, decorating and design projects.
Cancellation and a full refund can be obtained up to 4 weeks before the course starts. Start dates may be amended on request.
The workshop will start at 10.00 am and we aim to finish around 3.00 pm. All students are asked to bring an apron or wear suitable clothing. There is a maximum of 5 and a minimum of 3 students per workshop. Group bookings up to 6 students.
Practice boards and a small number of items of furniture will be available for you to try some of the professional techniques used in furniture painting, such as ageing and patina effects, craquelure, chalk paint and wax finishes. You may take your practice board home if you wish.
You will also be provided with brushes, tools and equipment and all the paints and finishes you might need throughout the day, along with full instruction on their correct use.
Tea, coffee and light refreshments will be available throughout the day. Unfortunately we will not be able to cater for any special dietary requirements or allergies, so you are asked to please bring a packed lunch.
