Paint your own cover and make a concertina book

Paint your own cover and make a concertina book
X

Description

Learn how to make your own concertina style books using your own decorated cover papers.

On this workshop Janina will show you how to make two types of concertina books.

First we will start by decorating paper with abstract patterns using acrylic paint, mediums, and paint pens. We will use techniques of paint scraping, stamping, stencilling, and added paint pen detail. These decorated papers sheets will be used as the covers for the two concertina books.

The first concertina book will be an A5 portrait book with hard cover and added coloured paper hinge detailing. The pages will be thick 220gsm cartridge paper.

The second book will contain 225gsn watercolour paper and will be made with an aperture for a flat backed embellishment or medallion.

There is no sewing in this style of handmade book!

Cover charge

The costs of materials for each student is £5 pp. This includes paint, mediums, greyboard, PVA glue, 220 gsm cartridge, 225gsm watercolour and other incidentals.
