About the Course
The Open Foundations Creative Writing course is designed to inspire and encourage new students to practise independent writing. The course is suitable for students are unsure whether they are ready to engage in degree level study and those who wish to study a single stand-alone course to develop their skills and understanding. You will start writing immediately, drawing from personal experience and, with feedback from your tutor, you can expect to make rapid progress. On completion of the five parts of the course you should have gained sufficient skills and enough confidence to go on to further study with the Open College of the Arts or elsewhere, and be able to decide on the nature and direction of your future studies or writing practice.
The Open College of the Arts is a non-profit educational charity offering arts education through open and flexible distance learning methods. You will receive support from a one-to-one tutor who is also an arts practitioner and you will become part of a thriving UK and international student community.
All of our part time distance learning Open degrees are awarded by the University for the Creative Arts (UCA). We have an exceptional range of part-time Open courses at Higher Education level in painting, drawing, photography, music, illustration, graphic design, creative writing, textiles, sculpture, printmaking, art history and film.
