Slab-Building: create geometric & curved forms from clay sheets
This two-part introduction online , running over two consecutive weeks, will introduce you to Slab-Building.
We will start with simple cubes and cylinders, using butting up joints, and progress to more complex geometric shapes, learning how to cut bevelled (angled) edges.
You will need to provide your own materials, tools and equipment (you can order these from us ahead or use your own supplies!)
We will look at planning your designs, rolling out and cutting the tiles to size and, most importantly, tips and techniques to keep your tiles nice and flat.

Great fun and really addictive! Really pleased with the mugs I made. Excellent and patient teacher too.

These are excellent workshops run in such pleasant surroundings . Emma explains everything so well and with great patience. This is a great hobby for men and women and the small friendly groups enable you to be inspired by others and let your creativity flow. We are now all hooked and return regularly to make either a piece Emma has suggested in order to stretch our skills or we can choose that unique something we really want to make for ourselves, under her expert guidance.
An excellent workshop in beautiful surroundings. I am now hooked and learning more and more.
Response from EJaRt Creative:Glad you enjoyed these workshops. So much more to teach you so hope you come again soon.
A wonderful workshop and really enjoyed by all. We all came with our own ideas and made different things under the instruction of Emma Jayne. Would recommend this as a very enjoyable session . We will be coming again soon for sure.
