One on one blacksmithing

Description

One on one blacksmithing tuition at our forge in the beautiful hills of north Staffordshire. Students spend the day doing things the old fashioned way (the best way) After the all important safety chat we will guide you through some basic principles of the craft then, after some practice under expert supervision you will start to form and shape some beautiful and often useful items to be proud of. Everything you make is yours to take home, if there is something in particular you have in mind to make please contact us when booking and discuss..

What's included in the price?

All tools and PPE are provided as is a constant flow of tea/coffee/cold drinks, lunch is included (please contact us prior to the course day with any special dietary requirements)

"An absolutely, full-on day with the brilliant Ben Cooper at Great Oak Forge who made blacksmithing look so easy and who was a great tutor of this ancient skill. With Ben’s expert knowledge me and my two mates created an ornate hook, a great bottle opener and a beautiful knife. We had a laugh with Ben and will never forget this day ( Ben also made an awesome breakfast roll for lunch. "First and foremost I had an awesome day, Ben was very knowledgeable of every aspect of blacksmithing and this fully working workshop was an awesome environment to experience a new skill. We went through all the skills needed to make anything your metal bashing heart desired. Making functional items to cement the techniques and even how to deal with things that don't go to plan. Equipment wise, the workshop was stocked out. More hammers, tong, punches and hardy tools than you can shake a stick at, (even that stick will probably have hammer head on it) so there's always the right size and shape tool for what you need and Ben knows how to get you using them right. Great setting, environment, Instructor and experience what else could you want, well even refreshments were included too. Couldn't ask for more whether your just trying it out or want some more forge time with someone who knows his stuff. Highly recommended A++, I definitely think I've caught the forging bug!"
