Course Start DatesSaturday 1st February 2020
About the Course
Come and create your own lamp in this practical hands-on upcycling workshop.
The workshop is run 11am - 3pm (lunch included) by Lee, who set-up UPCYCLED CREATIVE and will now teach you how to make your very own lamp out of virtually anything. Lee is well known for his upcycling and incorporates this into the work to create some unique and interesting lighting. Lee has created numerous lighting designs for clients of which can be seen on our commercial projects page, but has also added names like Rolls Royce and Deliveroo to his portfolio during the last year.
During this 3/4 hour workshop you will learn how to safely and correctly wire a plug for your lamp, drill and prepare the body of the lamp and wire the light fitting. Once completed and checked you will be provided with a low energy filament style bulb and hey presto! Your lamp should be ready to show off in your home.
The course price is for you to create one lamp of your choice. We encourage you to bring along an item that you would like to make into a lamp although we can provide some alternatives like reclaimed wood, kilner jars or our random generator of reclaimed / salvaged / eclectic items. If you do not have your own item to bring with you then please contact us to discuss this prior to the event.
The workshop will be held at our studio in Wirksworth, plenty of tea, coffee and soft drinks available, whilst we have no issues with people enjoying a drink while we work, we would please ask that people are mindful of the other members of the group so hot drinks must be kept away from the work area. This is primarily for health and safety reasons but also it would not be acceptable to cause any discomfort to any other members of the group.
If booking with a CraftCourses voucher for part or all of the course fee, please fill in the contact form above. Your voucher code must be provided at the point of booking.
What's included in the price?
The workshop includes everything you need to make your lamp, you just need to supply your item to use.
We keep workshop sizes small so that you benefit from greater one on one teaching.
