One day Beastie Assemblage workshop with Linda Lovatt

Workshop and gallery
X

Description

Come and have a go at making your own copper assemblage using found and recycled objects. It will involve cutting and embossing copper foil, soft soldering with an electric soldering iron, twirling wires with beads, using fragments of broken china and creating your own wee 'Beastie'.

I hold them in my pretty workshop / gallery on the High Street in the historic town of Jedburgh in the Scottish Borders.

Once completed you leave your assemblage with me and I treat the copper to bring out the beautiful verdigris patina, then post it to you a week after the workshop.

Please feel free to bring any old precious bits of china, jewellery, keys or bobbins to include in your assemblage, although I have a large selection for you to use in the gallery.

You can make a freestanding creation or one that will fit flat into a box frame, you can frame it yourself or I can frame it for you.

We stop for lunch and being on the High Street there is a large selection of bakers, cafes and shops with the beautiful Mary Queen of Scots garden directly behind the gallery to sit in and take a breather.

Since winning the Kirsti's Handmade Christmas Wreath competition in 2018 on Channel 4, my workshops became increasingly popular with people wanted to try soft soldering for the first time.

No experience is required just come and have a bit of fun and create your own beautiful Beastie Assemblage.
