About the Course
Design, cut and print your own Christmas themed linocuts on this one day course with renowned print artist and tutor, Laura Boswell and leave with all the help and advice you’ll need for simple printing at home.
This relaxed and friendly course will cover designing, cutting and printing one or two single colour linocut prints at a size to fit onto A5 cards. You’ll work on your own design, with lots of advice and design ideas available as reference, and learn how to cut the lino to make the most of its bold graphic appeal. You’ll also learn how to manage inking up and printing to produce crisp clean prints. You’ll print onto plain and coloured paper in a variety of colours using water based inks and take away a full factsheet about the process along with lots of hints and tips aimed at helping you to print on your kitchen table at home.
By the end of the course you will have one or two linocut blocks you can take away to print up as Christmas cards at home along with the prints you do on the day. You will have learnt the principals of one colour lino printing along with the practicalities of cutting and inking.
