This workshop will cover everything you need to know to get started in oil painting; from basic equipment and how to use it to basic techniques and procedures.

You will paint a still-life with step by step guidance from the teacher.

Cancellation and a full refund can be obtained up to 2 weeks before the course starts. Start dates may be amended on request.

What's included in the price?

The cost of this workshop also includes refreshments and a delicious light lunch. Please inform our team of any allergies or dietary requirements when you book your place.

Please note you will be required to supply your own materials for this class, including:

Oil painting paper which you can buy in pads - Warren recommends A3 size which can be cut down if necessary
Oil painting brushes – filbert shape is the most useful
Oil paints - student quality is fine - the Winton range by Winsor and Newton or the Georgian range by Dalor Rowney are two good examples. You can buy sets which have a good colour range usually, but if buying separately here are colours Warren will be using and recommends: Titanium white; yellow ochre; cadmium yellow light; cadmium red light; alizarin crimson; burnt sienna; burnt umber; viridian; cerulean blue; ultramarine blue; ivory black
Linseed oil or other painting medium - a good all rounder is called Liquin which is fast drying
Non odourless paint thinner such Sansodor or Zest It
Pencils and a rubber
Kitchen towel
Once you have these materials you can then use them again for our Oil Painting Course launching later this year.
