About the Course
The Northeast coast has some fantastic beaches, but the weather conditions in the winter can make it bitterly cold, so warm clothing is advised for the workshop. The workshop will take place on Northumberland’s heritage coastline. Warkworth beach, which at its furthest point next to Amble was the home of the RAF air rescue in World War II. The remains of Warkworth lighthouse and old wooden pier are on the beach peninsula, which we are visiting for either the dawn or sunset shots during the workshop.
The workshop will take place at Bamburgh in Northumberland, which is an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Northumberland features some of the most dramatic coastal scenery in the country. Best known for its sweeping sandy beaches, and rolling dunes. It also contains some imposing castles such as Bamburgh and the ruins of Dunstanburgh Castle with its distinctive pebble beach. The workshop will also visit other locations such as Alnwick Castle, Lindisfarne (Holy Island) and Lindisfarne Castle.
