What to expect:
Beginners and improvers are welcome. I will start with short introduction on tools and materials that will be used during the class. After that we will start creating a base animal shape from white core wool. Once the piece is well sculpted we will be adding layers of coloured wool and detail. It will be a step by step process & everyone will be able to finish and take home their own needle felted animal. After the class I will have some materials and tools available to purchase, for those who want to practice needle felting at home.

Location & time:
It usually is a 3 hour session starting in the afternoon. The workshop may take a bit longer, it depends how well people are doing.
Workshops take place at the library, on the first floor at POLONIA CLUB in Cambridge (unfortunately no disabled access at the moment) - there is a free parking by the venue. Alternatively some classes are held at Chesterton Metchodist Church in Cambridge - disabled access and parking on site.

This was my first attempt at needle felting. I have done a tiny amount of wet felting previously. I thoroughly enjoyed the afternoon making a duckling. Zenia is a very patient and creative teacher. My duckling now takes price of place on a glass shelf in my kitchen - there is space on that shelf for the items I hope to make with Zenia in the future.

My first ever needle felting workshop could not have been better. Zenia is not only a very impressive and inspirational artist but also a tremendous and patient teacher. She generously shares her talents and works hard to ensure everyone gets satisfying results. Zenia carefully explained and demonstrated all the steps involved in making a really cute duckling and. She made the afternoon very relaxing and thoroughly enjoyable. Thank you.

Thank you for a lovely afternoon. This was my first experience of needle felting and Zenia made me feel very welcome. The afternoon of making bunnies flew by. Zenia was great at explaining what to do and was very helpful and patient.

Thank you:)

I spent a brilliant Sunday afternoon in a small group of seven beginners making a little robin. I had never needle felted before but found it easy to do with Zenia's clear step by step instructions and demonstrations. She is patient, kind, enthusiastic and very helpful especially with the tricky bits. I couldn't believe how fast the 3.5 hours passed. I absolutely love my robin and can't wait to make a few more before Christmas. I enjoyed the tea, mince pies and biscuits but was so hooked on my needle felting I could hardly stop for them! I would thoroughly recommend this course and will definitely be booking another with Zenia in the spring.

Such an excellent afternoon. I loved making a little robin, which had been much admired. The pace was perfect, allowing all of us to keep up. Zenia was clear in her explanations and patient and helpful with us. I would love to do another course with her. Highly recommended.

I spent a fascinating afternoon last Sunday learning about the range of wools to use and the technique of how to build up the structure of a robin. It was totally addictive and the time flew by. Zania is a very patient, knowledgeable and charismatic teacher. I would thoroughly recommend this course to any budding felter.

Brilliant afternoon. The pace, structure and step by step demonstration of the session were spot on. Group size was small with lots of personal time. Zenia is a lovely, very knowledgable instructor whose enthusiasm is infectious!
Would highly recommend the session. I was very happy with my robin and went home and was immediately able to make another.

Thank you for a great course. A lovely way to spend a Sunday afternoon. I had never needle felted before and it seemed amazing to me to see how the wool bonded together and I am thrilled with my robin. Lovely venue and group size. Great teaching. Highly recommend😊

Spent a wonderful Sunday afternoon creating a very cute needle felt Robin. Relaxed learning space with hands on input from our lovely teacher Zenia. I've caught the needle felting bug!

- - #10689

What a fascinating afternoon, I was amazed at how the shapeless mass of wool became a cute little round robin. The feeling of the shape forming under my fingers was very good, I shall definitely do some more.
Zenia explained the processes very clearly and was most patient.

The tea and leibkucken was a great incentive too!

I was very impressed by the course and learned a great deal. I found it easy and fun to follow and was very happy with my little blue tit. I would certainly recommend this course to anyone who has an interest in felting, both beginners and those wishing to improve.
Thank you for an enjoyable afternoon Zenia.

I attended this needle felting workshop today (28th May) with no experience whatsoever. There were seven of us altogether and we all finished up with a cute little blue tit in under the four hours Zenia allows for the course. The atmosphere was light-hearted and fun, the company good and the biscuits moreish! She is a very good teacher who demonstrated the process clearly and helped us to achieve birds we were all happy with. Just what you need for a relaxed Sunday afternoon. I was so enthused I have bought a robin kit to make at home. Well worth doing!

I attended a class yesterday to make a blue tit, and had a wonderful time! Żenia was a great teacher, and it was a nice class atmosphere with 6 students around a communal table. The class was 4 hours (including a break for tea and biscuits), which went by quickly but gave us enough time to all complete our birds. I had needle felted a couple of times before using basic kits, but it made a big difference to have a teacher explaining the process (particularly things like making the initial shape and the finishes), and I think the bird I made looks a lot better than the previous projects I had made. I would definitely recommend this class to anyone!

I attended the blue tit workshop yesterday (March 26th 2017) and absolutely loved it! The teacher was lovely and patient and demonstrated and instructed very clearly and managed to cater for everyone's pace. This was the second time I'd done any needle felting and I was really pleased with the outcome, everyone's birds looked great at the end! I would highly recommend and would definitely go again.

I attended the felting class to make the Blue Tit on 26 March 2017. This is the first time I've done needle felting - it was a lot of fun! The set-up was very personal around a small table with teas and biscuits but all the equipment were there. Zenia is a great teacher and within a day all those attending were able to complete quite a complicated felting piece while coming in at practically zero experience. It was a very therapeutic and friendly atmosphere - four hours just flew by.

I completed the Needle felting Robin course before Christmas. I have done wet felting before but not needle felted much and I learnt so much from this course. Everyone was friendly and really helpful and I loved the course, the time flew past.
I highly recommend it, you will be hooked!
