Needle Felting for Beginners

Description

Discover the wonderful craft of needle felting. Suitable for complete beginners, this workshop aims to provide students with the basic skills required to make their own needle felted projects.

This workshop will cover:
- An introduction to needle felting, tools and techniques
- Guidance on different wool roving and felting needles.
- Step by step instructions on how to shape and form a 3D animal.
- Tutor demonstrations and step-by-step instructions on how to shape the wool and add extra roving to create realistic body shapes and how to use fine needling skills to create intricate details.

Students will find the session with a completed small, 3D animal, along with handouts and a whole host of advice, tips and guidance for continuing on with felting at home.

What's included in the price?

Kits will be posted to learners prior to the session, which will include:
- Felting mat
- Wool roving
- Glass eyes
- 2 felting needles
- Printed, colour handouts

What you will need

We recommend learners purchase some finger and thumb protectors (Amazon sell these specifically for needle felting), however these are not essential.
It is also advisable that learners purchase a cheap pack of felting needles from a local craft shop, or Amazon, to continue felting at home, as needles can break, especially when learning.
