Come and enjoy an immersive day of artisan needle felting with Cecily Kate from Art Felt Fibres and take home this beautiful heirloom piece that will be admired for years to come.
Freshly baked delicious cakes made by Alison in the Oast Bakery and optional homemade lunch will keep everyone nourished throughout the day.

During this workshop you will learn:

* How to wet felt a nest with speckled eggs and fashion simple blossoms, buds and leaves

* How to make the wire armature for your bird’s body, legs and feet

* How to wrap the feet and legs, and needle felt the blue tit core shape - a great skill for needle felting the core shape of other song birds

* How to needle felt layers of authentically coloured wool so you can breathe life into your blue tit.

* How to bring all the elements together to create a stunning piece that will inspire your creativity and future needle felting ideas.

The Oast studio is a tranquil space, making it easy to immerse yourself in creativity and become absorbed in the task at hand. Nestled in the Ashdown Forest, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, the Oast and its surrounding farmland are just a few miles from the Hundred Acre Wood - so there’s an opportunity to wrap up your day with a round of Pooh Sticks from the bridge!

What's included in the price?

*A hand woven willow hoop, wool, felt
*Wire for the armature, wax tape for wrapping legs
*All other materials needed for the make, including needles, needle felting tool, needle nose pliers, 100% wool pad, thread and glue

Delicious cake baked by Alison at the Oast Bakery ... and of coarse lots of fresh tea, coffee and water! Homemade lunch availableon request.
