Course Start DatesWednesday 26th February 2020
About the Course
Spend a relaxed afternoon or evening learning the basics of needle felting in three dimensions, make your choice of animals with all materials provided and help on hand to kick start your skills with this highly addictive craft!
This course is suitable for complete beginners but as you can work towards your own goals too more experienced felters are also welcome. Teens and older children are welcome to join us too.
You will learn the art of three dimensional needle felting, working from a woollen bundle then felting coloured wool onto the base shape to develop your choice of animal. You will be also working with wool to form legs, wings, ears etc which are then felted onto the main shape. The last part is to add details such as eyes or distinctive markings again using wool roving.
Your tutor will be Hannah, the owner of Stitching Kitchen. She set up the business in 2017 to share her passion and skills in all things involving textiles, fabric and threads. Her courses are relaxed and fun, they are held in her Stitching Kitchen in Brackley, Northants where she provides a range of teas, coffee and homemade cakes.
If booking with a CraftCourses voucher for part or all of the course fee, please fill in the contact form above. Your voucher code must be provided at the point of booking.
What's included in the price?
All materials and necessary equipment are included. You will have hands on tuition from Hannah throughout the session to form your choice of animal or bird. Cake and drinks are included
It was an excellent introduction to needlefelting, with good instructions and encouragement. The atmosphere was relaxed and great for a parent with an older child. My daughter is now an avid needle felter and learned all the necessary skills from the workshop.
