About the Course

During this half day workshop you will create a needle felted animal or a flat picture of any image you choose. Full day courses are also available on request and via my website.

We will be using various wool fibres and a barbed felting needle to knit the fibres together. Beginner to some experience.

Half day- Small animals could be an owl, penguin, bird or similar.
Full day you would make a more substantial animal i.e animal with leg, ears etc... you need a full day to create an animal with limbs.

With small stabbing actions you will knit the fibres into a form that will grow very quickly by sculpting the wool.

I have many examples that you can use for inspiration of images and animals; or landscape pictures if you would prefer to create a picture. But do bring your own images along.

If you do not see a date to suit you or have an enquiry regarding a group booking then please get in touch via the contact form or my website.

We will cover all needle felting basics and safety.

Look forward to meeting you

Hi Susan, Your hare is absolutely fabulous and well done in picking up the techniques so quickly. I look forward to taking you to the next level :-0 .

I attended a half-day dry needle-felting course, my third class with Barbara. I have previously made a wet felt picture, and a handbag. Today I made a robin and a penguin. I have been very pleased with everything I have made, and they have been much admired by friends and family.
It was a lovely afternoon out with a difference. There was a lovely relaxed atmosphere, combined with excellent teaching. Thank you, Barbara.

First real attempt at dry felting. I really enjoyed the day and impressed myself and my family, of producing a felt rabbit which was pleasingly convincing! It also got the ah! factor from work colleagues and has already got me wanting to make more. Most enjoyable!

I attended Barbara's Wet Felt Picture Taster Session and thoroughly enjoyed it!

Barbara's lovely studio provided the perfect creative environment to learn the skill of wet felting and her friendly teaching style made even a novice like me, feel confident that I could create something beautiful.

I'm now hooked and can't wait to try another of Barbara's workshops.
