Duration: 1 day
at Cowshed Creative (Kentmere Farm Pods and Creative Courses)
About the Course
Be inspired by a wide range of wonderful illustrations of animals for children. Base your design on one of these or you may have an animal in mind – a much-loved pet or character you have come across. Delicious 2 course lunch included in the fee.
Felting is highly addictive and can lead to compulsive creativity! Join us for a relaxed and sociable day transforming fleece into a 3d animal of your choice. Using dry felting techniques you will blend wool to create subtle colours and sculpt a beautiful model. You will be amazed by what you create. No previous experience needed.
Textile artist and teacher, Kate Reid will guide you throughout the process with demonstrations and helpful hints to help bring your figure to life.
Kate trained at Central School of Art in London in Textile Design, which led to work as a freelance knitwear designer and textile specialist. She now runs her own successful costume hire company, designing and making bespoke costumes for both theatre productions and film.
This workshop will be at Cowshed Creative, based in a traditional converted Lakeland barn at Browfoot Farm. The art studio is a stunning open plan space with plenty of room to wander outside and take inspiration from the amazing Lakeland landscape and environment of the peaceful Kentmere valley. Make it a special break and stay on the farm.
