Learn how to needle felt a beautiful, unique vessel on our tranquil narrowboat. We will use coloured merino wool or/and natural raw sheep wool to needle felt a vessel/bowl. Vessels can be purely decorative, or used to keep your stones, jewellery or herbs in. In this relaxing workshop you will create your personal vessel whilst enjoying the tranquil setting of the boat.
No previous experience is necessary. Michaela will meet you at an arranged meeting point in Ringstead/Kettering and from there you will go for a short walk to the boat studio in the marina. You will be then welcomed with tea or coffee and cake before we get started throughout the day I will provide you with drinks and snacks. You will need to bring your own lunch.
On cold days we will work inside the cosy narrowboat and on nice days we can sit at the back of the boat enjoying the beautiful river environment. Our classes are suited for beginners and you can easily book online or email me. Bring a friend or find new ones in your class (2-3 people). Learn a new skill and relax on our cosy Narrowboat. I see creating art as a holistic process where your mind and body should find peace from everyday stresses. My workshops are for female students only due to the nature of the arrangements.
I have worked for more than 15 years as a tutor for stone carving at the Cyprus College of Art, in the South of France, Germany and England. I studied stone carving in Italy and my work has been shown on numerous international exhibitions. I am also a tutor for transformative art.
