We will start with a small, simple piece of work and progress to a bigger project as the week goes on. All levels of experience are welcome to join us, and no experience is needed. You don’t have to be an amazing artist to create a beautiful piece of mosaic art!

The Tutor Karen Wones
Karen has recently moved to the Bucks/Berks area having taught mosaic art in Gloucestershire and Worcestershire over the past 12 years. She has also worked in schools and produced commercial mosaic work.
Karen agrees with the school’s philosophy that everyone needs a creative outlet. Although her first career of nursing (also midwifery and health education) would seem unrelated to art, she has spent the last few years working on ‘arts and health’ projects. In addition to the creation of objects of beauty, the benefits (for people’s well-being) of ‘doing’ art/craft have been studied and proven so she considers teaching mosaics as another way to help people. So she is thrilled to be part of this journey for her students.
Her approach to teaching is to provide information and good instruction but also a space of safety and nurturing to allow people to grow in confidence.
