About the Course
Most of us have dabbled with collage at some time, but take it to an exciting new level with this fail safe workshop! In this taster course, Tania will provide you with everything you need to create a colourful, contemporary collage using the simplest of materials. You will learn how to transfer a design onto canvas, select your colour palette and apply your materials for the best results. Subject-matter is provided, but be warned, the technique is quite addictive and if you wish to branch out with your own designs you are most welcome to book in for an advanced session. The course is suitable for children provided they are accompanied by an adult, but requires dexterity and uses sharp scissors so is not suitable for very young children.
If booking with a CraftCourses voucher for part or all of the course fee, please fill in the contact form above or telephone us. Your voucher code must be provided at the point of booking.
What's included in the price?
Depending on the speed that you work, you can expect to complete one approx. A4 size (25cm x 30cm) canvas using paint, drawing materials, a selection of collage materials and glue, plus a full colour image is provided to work from as your starting point. Your choice of subject matter will be limited to simple images in this course to give you the best results whilst learning the technique. The process will fill the whole four hour session and you may find you need to finish your piece at home, however, if you are a particularly fast worker there will be extra canvasses available at no extra charge. Groups are a maximum of 6 people so Tania can work closely with you to achieve a great result. Six is cosy in the studio, so if you have a larger group, are a school or organisation or just prefer your own environment Tania can come to you, please contact for more information (N.B. there may be an additional travel fee required). Tea, coffee and squash are provided in the studio, but you will need to bring your own lunch. There is free parking and a cafe on site, plus ten other studios and free entry to the Red House Glass Cone visitors centre in the historic Glass Quarter, Stourbridge.
The incredible warm welcome that was given to myself and three friends set the tone. From the moment we entered your studio we were made to feel welcome.
We had a relaxing collage day ; I thoroughly enjoyed making my' Uluru' creation - my husband is going to put it on display. It reminded me of a special time in Oz. Tania provided resource materials; I chose a special photo as my stimulus.
We valued being in a relaxing and creative environment. I learnt a little more about the crafting skills needed and valued the way we were led through the day, complemented by cake and coffee! It was an enjoyable occasion.

Booked in for this course as a post Christmas treat with my Mum.
Can't recommend it enough!
It really is a 'fail safe' craft as described on the website. Easy to understand, clear instructions, maximum support and guidance from the very talented Tania, immediate result and such fun. No pressure, media allows you to do your own thing. Very pleased with the results, and we are both keen to continue at home.
Great day out 😀😀

Response from Tania Holland Gallery:Thank you so much for your kind review. I hope to see you again!
Tania conducted a mixed media workshop with a variety of students. The workshop proved challenging and exciting for all students involved. Tania provided great instruction and demonstration of technical processes and materials to be used. In addition, Tania encouraged the students to consider their own creative aspirations and worked alongside their personalised ideas. I highly recommend Tania and the expertise she has to share, a highly enjoyable and informative day.
