Do you want to use your Gel Plate to create something memorable? Join me Teri, for a simple online Mini Book workshop.
The main objectives of the workshop – as well as making the Mini Book of course – is to have fun, whilst learning, creating, relaxing and letting go of what is happening in the world around us.
At the end of the workshop, you will have a lovely mini book with a template of techniques for you to look back on and duplicate in future projects. The book will consist of at least 12 pages (6 double pages).
We will start the workshop by doing the first of the processes needed to make the cover. Then it's onto the basics of using a Gel Plate and a brayer.
Once everyone is happy we will use acrylics with and without stencils to make 8 backgrounds. Stamping and doodling on the backgrounds comes next.
We will continue making the cover throughout the weekend as there are a few processes that need to dry before continuing – these are not difficult processes at all. Once the cover has been made, and pages complete, we will assemble the book.
The idea is that you craft along with me, but this is NOT a necessity, as the ‘lives’ will be recorded, and can be watched whenever it’s convenient to you.
The workshops will take place in an exclusive Facebook Group.
The first session shares instructions for some preparation work – giving out measurements for cutting up paper/card you will be using.
You can use the Facebook group to ask any questions as needed.
If you will be redeeming a CraftCourses gift voucher on this course, the voucher code must be provided at the point of booking.
3 to 4 hours each day (2 days) of live tuition (videos are recorded if you are unable to watch live or want to rewatch)
This includes live step by step tuition of :
*each stage of making the cover for the mini book
*how to use a gel plate
*how to use a brayer
* ideas for stamping on your backgrounds
*Doodling to 'finish off' the look
Unlimited Access to the recordings
An exclusive Facebook Group, which will remain open for workshop attendees indefinitely
The items with the asterisk (*) by the side are the essentials.
Gel/Gelli plate - if you do not have one of these, you can still follow the process and use just acrylics and some cut and dry foam or a sponge You WILL want a Gel plate once you have seen the fun you can have! *
Card/thick paper - this is a good opportunity to use pattered papers that you may have had for a while at the back of the cupboard*
3 different colour acrylic paints – one light, one medium and one a bit darker than the other 2.
A very pale colour acrylic paint.
Black Gesso or Acrylic for the cover - this is not absolutely essential as a cover can be made from just card.
2 stencils or die cut card – one of which needs to be open shapes, like a circle, square, flower – as long as it has an open shape. I will explain this more in my prep video in the group*
Something for doodling with*
Elastic Bands - around 4 and a block or something spherical like an empty toilet roll
Mod Podge – if you want to seal the cover and make it flexible
Scraps of material for stamping on
