A 2 hour evening workshop of mindful making with clay, lead by Sarah, an experienced ceramic artist and mediation teacher. Connect with your creative flow, working with the material in a gentle and accessible way to discover your own creative potential. Guided meditations and easy to follow steps make this workshop ideal both for beginners in clay or more experienced makers.
The joy of clay is that it encourages an uncomplicated and reflective approach to making, allowing you to learn new skills, and enjoy a relaxing and satisfying activity in welcoming group.
The sessions work best when booked as a series but work equally well when booked individually.
The group is an important part of this process and numbers are limited. This allows for a greater connection between group members and the opportunity for you to absorb yourself in your intuition.
About the session
Each session is 2 hours and is introduced with a guided relaxation exercise followed by clay activity. The final outcome might be a finished clay item but may also represent a creative idea to take forward outside session time. The beauty of this approach is that result of your creativity is at home with you ready to enjoy.

The course fee includes 1kg of air dry clay for each session. This is professional quality potters clay with polyester fibre inclusions, making this a safe and friendly material to work with.
Shipping is normally by Royal Mail or Parcelforce. Please contact me if you would like your order shipped via a different method. Want to bring your own clay? There is a small discount if you would like to bring your own clay. (If you can source this locally, please do support your local supplier/art shop); please contact me if this applies to you.
We normally work with our hands, a piece of paper and an old credit card/oyster card, but clear directions and the opportunity to work with found objects is also included. Bringing your personal touch to your creations is made easy when we are surrounded by the items we know most well.

I have done a couple of Sarah's workshops- one for me and one for my daughter- and I can testify that she is excellent at her craft as well as teaching. She demonstrates different techniques to achieve amazing effects, and is a brilliant guide without being too prescriptive. Students of all ages and abilities are encouraged to use their imaginations and to create some really great pieces. She's amazing!
Sarah is the perfect mix of professional, calming and extremely skilled at the art. That is what makes her a great teacher, and we had an amazing time learning how to mould and decorate different shapes at a team workshop. I highly recommend this wonderful lady and her mindfulness courses!
We all had such a special and wonderful time at this clay session. My family all got together and decorated a vase to celebrate my brother's birthday. We all chose different things that represented him and Sarah added on the motifs to the vase afterwards. He loves this vase, its a token of all our thoughts and love and reminds us of great memories of the day. It was also so nice to get together with your family and do something different that isn't just dinner! Sarah is the nicest possible lady. Really calming, patient, intuitive and kind. Hugely recommend the session.
Sarah is so lovely. She organised a team building afternoon at our work where we made different motifs to represent our company. This was then decorated on a large bowl which now looks lovely in our office. The afternoon was fun and Sarah put everyone at ease with her sparkling personality. Looking forward to having her creative clay session again.
Sarah is absolutely fabulous. As a complete novice to working with clay, she instantly put me and everyone else in the group of mixed ability immediately at ease and the meditation work was perfectly structured to guide you throughout to allow you to be creative. Did not know I could be so creative!
The gentle peaceful nature of the meditation meant I was able to reflect on things and learn useful skills that will stay with me! Definitely something I would recommend to anyone, whether a novice with clay or not! Thanks again Sarah!
Response from Sarah Core Arts:Thanks so much for your positive feedback: it was great to welcome you to the group. I am really glad to you found the meditations a helpful way in to your own creativity and that clay was less daunting as a result.
