About the Course
Come and use the selection of hat blocks available at Kerry Kernan Millinery on this one day millinery workshop to create your own beautiful vintage style cloche hat.
This millinery course will enable you to create your own hat with some fabulous personal touches.
You can decorate your new hat with a variety of trimmings after the workshop or why not book onto one of my other hat making courses to create your own special embellishment?
This workshop will teach you how to block the fabric, how to wire the edge and how to trim the edge with Petersham ribbon. A variety of styles can be created in this workshop - please see images for ideas.
No experience necessary but a willingness to use hand stitching is necessary!
If you are interested in this workshop but cannot make these dates, please get in touch and I will happily work with you to find a suitable date. If you would like to book this workshop for a private party i.e. Hen Party or other celebration, please get in touch and we can discuss dates.

My niece's wedding was last Friday here in New Zealand, was a beautiful day, glorious location and the Gatsby theme was lots of fun. I loved wearing the hat and many people commented on it, particularly impressed when I told them I'd made it! I'd really like to learn more.
Thanks again for your instruction!

I spent a very enjoyable day learning about hat making that ended with a great red hat that I will wear for many years to come. Kerry was an excellent tutor with a kind and friendly disposition which made the day a very relaxing way of learning. I will definitely be returning for more of her tutorials. Great day.

A fantastic day, so much to learn, such a great teacher.
Could not believe what we achieved in one day and very happy with what Kerry enabled me to make.

I have completed two workshops with Kerry who is friendly, professional and well organised. Kerry gives you plenty of individual attention and shares her extensive knowledge and contacts generously. Coffee and cake were a bonus too!
Frances Victory - - #20993
I thoroughly enjoyed my workshop experience with Kerry in her beautiful hat shop. As a student, I went to her with specific project requirements, which I felt was a tall order for a first attempt. Kerry not only listened to my requirements, but embraced them and shared my enthusiasm as my mini bowler hat came together!
The Fold, where the Kerry Kernan shop is situated is a lovely collection of eclectic shops and coffee shop, and the other shop owners popped in to say hello to me too!
If you’re thinking of having a go at Millinery, I would thoroughly recommend spending the day Kerry, where you will be guaranteed good company, plenty of tea ….and amazing homemade cake!
Thanks again Kerry and I’m already looking forward to my next experience with you 😊
