About the Course
We are thrilled to announce that Maor Zabar is bringing his architectural silk molding and sculpting with felt masterclasses to the Cotswold School of Arts and Crafts.
These masterclasses will allow you to create beautiful pieces such as Maor's carnivorous plants collection and his food hats collection. Please see photos in the gallery for examples of these.
In this highly practical four day course you will first explore the world of wild silk (Dupioni) and create a beautifully sculpted headpiece based upon your own 3D pattern.
You will experiment with creating your own 3D blocks, learn to create your own patterns and draping techniques and learn to paint silk, with Maor guiding you through the whole process.
After this you will venture into the world of sculpting with felt. This allows you to create amazing designs and structures. You will create your own mini blocks in a range of interesting shapes, mold your felt creations, embellish these and then play with different painting techniques to create a range of specialist finishes.
This four day course is ideal for all ability ranges. A desire to create beautiful outcomes and to have fun whilst doing so are the only requirements!
Everyone will have the chance to leave with a completed silk hat and a completed felt hat. You will also have learnt a whole range of new skills and techniques to enhance your own millinery or textile work.
With a £150 non-refundable deposit, you can secure your space on this week of masterclass teaching in a luxury setting.
The remaining balance can be paid over the remaining months.
