Working with veiling can appear daunting but with some millinery know how and a few simple techniques you can start to explore the many design possibilities it offers. On this comprehensive one-day course you will learn a variety of different techniques producing your own reference work of samples and notes to create and attach birdcage, blocked or draped veils. This course is intensive and ideal for those with hat making experience looking to expand their skill set.

This course will be delivered in-centre with social distancing. The online platform Microsoft Teams will be used to support learning. Teaching will be in groups and on an individual one-to-one basis. The tutor will present examples and samples of work, demonstrate and discuss their construction. Handouts and other technical support will be provided where appropriate. Achievement on your course will be measured by whether you meet the learning outcomes above. At the start of the course you will have an opportunity to discuss these with your tutor and set your own personal targets, linked to the learning outcomes and future goals i.e.: progression to an advanced- level course. In order to ensure that you make the best possible progress on your course, you will have regular feedback from your tutor, in a constructive and supportive environment.
