About the Course
An introduction to working with sinamay or felt.
You will learn how to use a wooden hat block and use traditional millinery skills to block and shape your own sinamay hat or fascinator.
By the end of the day students will:
- Learn how to block a hat or fascinator using the material of your choice.
- Learn techniques to apply a wired edge and depending on chosen design start to learn finishing techniques.
Millinery requires hand sewing skills, you will leave with a blocked sinamay shape and the workshop is supported with a handout explaining the techniques required to finish your hat at home if needed. Further workshops and support may be booked if desired.
No previous millinery experience is necessary.
