About the Course
The course is suitable for absolute beginners, male or female, from the age of 14 upwards; or for metalworkers seeking to gain a basic understanding of mig welding.
Introducing students to the basic operations of welding through a tightly-planned programme of object-based procedures, there is plenty of sympathetic expert help available if any aspect becomes a struggle.
Once the fires are lit and the health and safety chat out of the way we will get straight down to the business of hammering some hot steel.
Welding is an invaluable skill for many repairs around the home, workshop or car, yet few people know how to weld, but anyone can do it. Spend the day in our fully equipped workshop and learn the correct way to Mig weld.
• Basic metallurgy; metal, steel and non-ferrous
• Theory and practical use of Mig welding
• Testing welds
• Dressing welds; grinder and file
Our welding course is perfect to teach you to weld, our students leave us to go home and practice their new skill safely and successfully.
Students are welcome to bring in their own welder if they have one, so they can be shown how to use it properly or have Rob set it up.
Lessons start at 9am and ends at 5pm, with about 30 mins to a hour for lunch.
The Forge workshop is situated in the rural outskirts of Long Clawson in the heart of the Vale of Belvior in north Leicestershire
There are no pre-arranged course dates. Courses are run as required - just ask for the date you would like and we will check the diary.
