Using the patterns from Vanessa Mooncie's, The Gentleman's Wardrobe, this two day course will teach you how to adapt a menswear pattern to your own measurements and then the techniques to construct and finish your own beautifully tailored waistcoat The pattern can be adapted to ladieswear or menswear.
A copy of the book and all patterns, are included in the cost, along with a wool practice fabric, calico and all other materials. All you will need to bring is a notebook and maybe an A4 file and envelopes to keep your patterns in. If you would like to make the garments in your own choice of fabric, please get in touch for advice on the best fabrics and quantities needed to complete the garment.
This course is for beginners to tailoring but an intermediate level of sewing and knowledge of garment construction would be helpful.

The Gentleman's Wardrobe - Waistcoat
With its V-shaped neckline and two welt pockets, this waistcoat will lend any outfit a distinctive look. The waistcoat is lined and features an adjustable belt.
Your tutor for this workshop is Peter Foster who has been a lecturer in textiles, fashion and costume design for over 20 years.
This two day workshop is held on June 16th and 17th, 10.00am - 4.00pm both days
