This day is all about learning to be present and enjoying the moment.
We will begin by exploring the lovely grounds at Dillington House and looking more closely at the environment around us. We will observe and gain inspiration from nature. Looking at the leaves which we have collected, we will explore marks, lines and patterns and develop your creative skills to make small experimental hand stitched pieces.
Fabrics and threads will be provided.

Paula Simpson has worked as a textiles teacher for many years in secondary education. Her recent move to Somerset has allowed her to share ideas, teach and help adults to develop their creative skills. She takes inspiration from nature and traditional hand stitching techniques from around the world and has recently been inspired by the ‘Slow Stitch’ movement.
