Jacqueline invites you to slip away into your creative bubble for a professional, skill based weekend with a small group of like minded people. Traditional, comfortable, historic High Force Hotel & creative, crafty JSInteriors are teaming up to bring you a fun packed, busy weekend workshop retreat in the stunning, unspoilt North Pennines.

This 2-night, 2-day residential workshop retreat covers all the techniques rand skills required to make oodles of scatter cushion designs to embellish your couches, chairs and beds.

Is this course for me?
Do you look longingly at sofas beautifully adorned with an ensemble of scatter cushions? Would you like to discover how to make buttons, bias piping, insert zips and tackling luxurious trimmings, all to a professional standard? Jacqueline will share the tricks of the trade.

What will I learn?
This busy 2-day workshop will teach you the techniques and stitches, to make bespoke designed scatter cushions, including pattern matching, handmade buttons, piping, and dealing with the dynamics of trimmings. You will learn how to measure and cut your fabric to maximize on pattern and detail, three options on how-to insert a zip. During the workshop you will complete at least 2 cushions, one with piped edging and another with fancy trimming.

Who will be teaching me?
Jacqueline is creative and talented, with over 20 years of teaching experience. She owns JSInteriorsUK and works as an Interior Designer in Yorkshire with mostly private clients on whole room schemes and holiday cottages.

What will I take home?
The knowledge, skills and confidence to make your own roman blinds at home. Training notes. Information about tried and tested reliable suppliers. Access to JSInteriorUK website resources for other soft furnishing projects. And, of course, 2 or more cushion covers to dress your home.

Scatter cushions are complimentary to bespoke curtains, blinds and handmade lampshades so do check out other weekend retreats offered by JSInteriorsUK.

Some hand and machine sewing experience will be useful, however Jacqueline and her assistant will provide oodles of encouragement and support, therefore this course is suitable for both the beginner and more experienced, enthusiastic sewer.

Want to review this course?

I have been on a number of Jacqueline’s courses and loved every one so thought I’d give this one a go too! It was perfect - I got to be very creative in using left over bits of material from previous course I had attended. I love how my pillows now match my lampshades. Jacqueline was great at finding a way of using all my little bits and bobs of fabric and trims in the best way possible! Thank you so much Jac - yet again a fabulous weekend!

Response from JSInteriorsUK:

Ahh yes Karina, we don't throw anything away. All the scraps from window treatments and lampshades are fabulously important as they can bring a whole room scheme together with a few scatter cushions. Your cushions are gorgeous, well done you!

I’m so proud of what I achieved on this course - two amazing cushions, new skills and a shed load of creative ideas! I thought I knew how to make scatter cushions but not like these ones! Zips, piping, beaded trims - loved it! A relaxed, friendly course with lots of help and tips - Jacqueline certainly knows what she’s talking about and is brimming with ideas and advice. Well worth it whether creating for personal use or something more ambitious - highly recommended
